Acceleration due to gravity at surface of earth depends on latitude φ and rotational speed ω of the earth as,

gφ=g2cos2φ

a) At equator:
φ=0gφ=0=g2cos20gφ=g2=GMR2-Rω2

Also, R is maximum at the equator.
g is minimum at equator.
b) At Pole:

φ=90o  gpole=g=GMR2 

Also, Radius at the pole is minimum, hence, g is maximum at pole.
