Detailed Solution

Self-Help Groups are constituted to provide loans to their members at a reasonable price.
It consists of 15–20 members from the same village or nearby. They need to save and pool (collect) their savings as resources. After a year or two of regularly saving, they are eligible to take loans from banks. SHGs collectively take loans and meet the needs of people by buying machinery, land, raw materials, and other farming equipment. They also conduct weekly or monthly meetings to discuss and act on some major prevalent issues in society, such as domestic violence, dowry, child marriage, health, nutrition, etc.
