Detailed Solution

We are aware that temperature is a measure of how hot or cold something is. It is quantifiable using a maximum and minimum thermometer. Temperature is often expressed in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit.
An alcohol-filled U-shaped glass tube with two ends is part of the maximum-minimum thermometer. The alcohol expands as the temperature changes, and the metal index on both sides of the thermometer records the highest and lowest temperatures.
The temperature is indicated by the lower point of each metal index. Therefore, we may deduce from the given figure that the maximum temperature is 48°Con the right and the minimum temperature is 23°C on the left. In the diagram below, both of these are shown:

Indicated by 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively, are the current reading, the minimum temperature, the maximum temperature, and the metal indices.
19°C is the current temperature.
The result is that the maximum temperature is 48°C and the minimum is 23°C.
