The objectives of Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) the Yojana were launched in 1993. It creates self-employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth in rural areas and small towns, and The unemployed are helped to set up small businesses and industries.
Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana, also known as PMRY, a scheme was initiated by the Central Government. This scheme was started in 1993. Due to the lack of infrastructure and other amenities in small towns, Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) aims to provide educated unemployed youth with chances for self-employment in rural and small towns. Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) was discontinued in 2007–2008, and the two programmes were combined to create a new initiative, the Prime Minister’s Jobs Generation Program (PMEGP), which was introduced in 2008–2009. i.e. Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) and the Initiative for the Generation of Rural Jobs (REGP).
