Detailed Solution

Guilds are organisations of artisans and businesspeople created to protect and benefit one another and advance their members' economic interests. Later, the guilds of Nanadesi and Manigramam merged with the Ayyavole-500 guild. Specialised merchant guilds focused on metropolitan centres included the Sankarappadi and Saliya Nagarattar guilds. During the Pallava and Chola eras, the Manigramam guild was active throughout Southeast Asia and prospered in Tamil Nadu. Within every guild, there were three levels: Master, Journeyman, and Apprentice. A master was someone who excelled in their field and typically ran their shop or company. The journeyman stood directly beneath the master. This person was competent at their work but not quite a master.
