Detailed Solution

Let the first number be x  .
Then as numbers are consecutive,
The second number =x+1   .
The third number =x+2   .
According to the question,
x+(x+1)=(x+2)+15
Simplifying the above equation, we get,
2x+1=x+17
2xx=171
x=16  .
Putting the value of x   in the supposed values of the consecutive numbers, we get,
First number =16  ,
Second number = 16+1=17   and
Third number = 16+2=18  .
Thus, the three consecutive natural numbers such that the sum of the first and second is 15 more than the third are 16, 17 and 18.
Hence, option (2) is correct.
