Detailed Solution

Kal Baisakhi causes rainfall in West Bengal during the hot weather season.
The word Kal-Baisakhi is a local name used for storms in West Bengal. The term kal means calamity and Baisakhi means month of Baisakh (calamity of the month of Baisakh). Kal-Baisakhi is a local thunderstorm experienced in the month of Baisakh or April in West Bengal. The North-Westerly and Northerly winds, which blow in the northeastern part of India, cause very sharp showers in this region. These winds are called Nor-Westers, which result in evening thunderstorms. These storms generally occur in the afternoon or just before sunset, when thick dark black clouds appear over the sky and then bring gale-speed wind with torrential rain, often with hail, but spanning only a short period.
