Detailed Solution

The Forest Act of 1878 divided the forest into three categories reserved, protected and village forests. It was amended in 1927. According to this Amendment, the forest was divided into three categories. Reserved Forests were the most restricted forests. The government-owned them. These forests are declared by their respective state governments. Entry of local people was banned in these forests. Anyone's entry is allowed only by the forest officer. Protected forests are those forests from which the government generate revenue. Village forests are the least protected, and the local people have full access to them.
