Birsa Munda wanted to set up a Satyug. 'Golden Age', according to Birsa Munda, was the age of Satyug(age of Truth). In Birsa Munda's ideal vision of a golden period, the tribal people would prosper, construct dams, access natural springs for drinking water, cultivate trees and orchards, and practise agriculture to sustain their way of life. He described a time when tribal members would lead honourable lives and refrain from murdering their brothers and relatives. Birsa also wanted individuals to come home and live, establish, and work on their lands. This idea appealed to people in the tribal areas because they desired to live free lives. They had grown weary of the regulations and laws that the colonial authority had imposed.
