Detailed Solution

Tithes were a tax levied by the church. A part of the income or agricultural produce (one-tenth) of the third estate people have to donate to church consistently as tax. The church levied tithes to the third class and extracted them from peasants. God's people believed that we should donate 10% of our income to the church. A "tenth" or "tenth" is a portion of the property that has been used for religious reasons since the beginning of time.
