What do bees taste before collecting it from flowers?

Nectar is a sugar-rich liquid that plants create in glands called nectaries or nectarines. Nectar can be found in flowers, where it attracts pollinating insects, or it can be found outside of flowers, where it serves as a food source for animal mutualists that protect herbivores. Mosquitoes, hoverflies, wasps, bees, butterflies, moths, hummingbirds, honeyeaters, and bats are examples of common pollinators that consume nectar. Nectar is essential to the economics of foraging and the evolution of nectar-eating species. For instance, the distinct evolution of the African honey bee, A. m. scutellata, and the western honey bee can be substantially attributed to nectar foraging behaviour.
