Detailed Solution

Fascism was an extremist political ideology. Fascism was the mass movement that dominated many parts of Central, Southern and Eastern Europe between 1919 and 1945. After that, it was followed in Western Europe and central Europe. The first fascist leader, Benito Mussolini, took his party's name from the Latin word fasces, which refers to elm or birch rods (usually containing an axe) used in ancient Rome as a symbol of punitive authority. At the end of World War II, the major European fascist parties were disbanded, and some countries (such as Italy and West Germany) were officially banned.
