Detailed Solution

G-77 countries are a group of developing countries which were formed after World War II. When World War II ended, significant portions of the world remained under European colonial power. Most colonies in Asia and Africa became sovereign, independent nations over the next two decades. Poverty though was a big challenge for them. The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank were established to alleviate the financial problems of these developing countries. They were, however, unprepared to meet this task. As a result, they formed their organization known as the G-77 (Group of 77) to express their grievances and further their economic interests.
