Detailed Solution

Sedition means anything that the government might consider as stirring up resistance or rebellion against it. Sedition law is considered anything that the government might consider as stirring up resistance or rebellion against it. It gives the government the right to arrest anybody without any prior documentation and appeal in court just on the grounds of their information regarding the person. It came to India under the Sedition Act of 1870, which was constituted by the British. However, their understanding of this law was very much naive, and they used it as a weapon to suppress the revolt against them in the country. They used to arrest nationalists who were protesting against their arbitrary laws without any evidence or justification that the person had committed any crime.
