Detailed Solution

The term BegarLabour that villagers were forced to contribute without any payment.
"Begar" refers to the practice of unpaid forced labour in villages. This was a common practice in Awadh. Talukdars and landlords used the beggar practice to force peasants to do unpaid work. Peasants protested the onerous practice of begar. In 1920, Baba Ramchandran and Jawaharlal Nehru gathered Awadh peasants into the Kisan Sabha. The Kisan Sabhas led the peasant movement under the banner of the Non-cooperation movement to present their demand. They wanted a reduction in revenue, the abolition of begging, and a social boycott of landlords. The peasant struggle against oppression was incorporated into the national battle.
