What does GAP stand for?

The Ganga Action Plan (GAP) was a government initiative started in India in 1986 with the aim of enhancing the quality of the Ganges River's water. It sought to lower the level of pollutants in the water through a number of measures, including the development of wastewater treatment plants, the promotion of alternative sources of drinking water, and the enhancement of solid waste management practices.
