SPA stands for Seven Party Alliance. It was a political alliance of seven political parties in Nepal.
It was established to contribute to the movement for democracy which started in Nepal in 2006. The main aim of the SPA was to abolish the monarchy and restore a democratic setup in the country. It demanded the setting up of a Constituent Assembly and the restoration of the Parliament. It also asked for the establishment of an All-Party government in the country. The demands were accepted, and the king had to resign from his monarchical status. Democracy was re-established in Nepal.
