Detailed Solution

The government provides special scholarships for the welfare of Dalits. For centuries, Dalits have been kept away from the process of learning. They were denied the possession of economic resources and other valuables. The makers of the Indian Constitution, especially Dr BR Ambedkar, recognized that the government would have to step in to provide the Dalits with opportunities for progress. Thus, the Constitution made provisions for reserving seats for Dalits in elections, educational institutions and government jobs. The government provides special scholarships and hostels for Dalit students to get facilities to pursue education. They also offer certain subsidies for the Dalit population.
