Because the trading businesses would buy the cotton and silk in India at lower prices and sell the same in Europe at higher prices, these beautiful qualities of cotton and silk produced in the country drew the European traders to a large extent. Trading enterprises from Europe were drawn to India because of its abundant supply of spices and the country's cotton and silk. India supplied a variety of spices, all of which were in high demand in Europe. These spices included clove, pepper, cinnamon, and cardamom. These are the main factors that drew European trading firms to India.
