Detailed Solution

The Ganga feeds on the Gangotri glacier of the western Himalayas.
Gangotri is said to be the origin of the river Ganga, but it has its source at Gaumukh, southeast of Gangotri. It flows through the Indian subcontinent and Bangladesh. It flows towards Bangladesh and combines with the Brahmaputra forming the Ganga- Brahmaputra delta. It is also known as the Sundarbans and is home to mangroves. This region is very fertile and suitable for agriculture. It is one of India's most densely populated regions, owing to the abundant resources and opportunities.
