What happens to the passengers travelling in a bus when the bus takes a sharp right turn? 

• According to the law of inertia, an object tries to remain in its state of rest or motion unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force.
• At first, the bus and passengers are travelling in the same direction.
• When the bus suddenly takes a right turn, the lower portion of passengers that is in contact with the bus tends to move in that direction but the upper portion of the passengers is still moving in a straight line due to its inertia of motion.
• As a result, when the bus takes a right turn, the passengers will appear to be tilting towards the left side.

Hence, the passengers will tilt leftwards when the moving bus takes a sharp right turn.
