Calcium metal begins to bubble vigorously as it reacts with water; it produces hydrogen gas and formation of cloudy white precipitate of calcium hydroxide is formed.
Calcium metal and water undergo reaction when they come in contact with each other and when calcium metal reacts with water it reacts very vigorously and the formation of bubbles also takes place. They react in such a manner that at the end the formation of cloudy white precipitate of calcium hydroxide will take place at the bottom of the container.
The reaction is given as: Ca + 2H2O → Ca(OH)2 + H2
