Concept-  Calcium hydroxide, often known as slaked lime, is an inorganic material.
Slaked lime is a colourless crystal that is produced when calcium oxide and water are mixed.
Bleaching powder is produced by chlorine being applied to slaked lime.
Dry slaked has an odour of chlorine. Slaked lime is either propelled through horizontal tubes that are fed with chlorine gas in the bleaching powder production process, or it is scattered on the flooring of big rectangular chambers made of lead or concrete and exposed to the gas. Cotton clothing is often bleached with hydrogen peroxide, while sodium hypochlorite and sodium chlorite are also options.
