What happens when fur and amber are rubbed together?

When fur and amber are rubbed together amber attracts lighter objects.
When amber is rubbed with the fur, electrons are transmitted from the fur to the amber, resulting in excess electrons and, thus, a negative charge in the amber. Conversely, a deficit of electrons, thus, a positive charge in the fur. This is due to the charged surface of the amber.
