Detailed Solution

PIL is Public interest Litigation.
In the event of a breach of a Fundamental Right, the distressed party may seek compensation in court. However, if the violation of a fundamental right is of social or public interest, anyone can file a lawsuit. Under the PIL, any person or group of residents can demand the Supreme Court or a High Court to conserve their interest against a particular government law or action. Even on a postcard, one might write to the judges. The court will listen to the matter if the magistrates believe it is in the public interest.
