Detailed Solution

Losing membership of MP/MLA after joining other parties  is Anti-Defection law.
The constitution has amended itself to prevent the practice of defection by both MLAs and MPs; defection is changing parties to get a seat. The new law passed has proved to be successful in preventing the practice of defection. According to this new law, if any MP or MLA is caught changing parties, they will lose their seat in the legislature (Anti-Defection Law). But this has made accepting dissent very difficult, allowing the party leaders to act according to their desires and ignore the perspective of their ministers. The defection was carried out for cash rewards or to become ministers.
