Detailed Solution

Apartheid is a system of racial discrimination.
Apartheid is described as a structure of racial discrimination that existed in South Africa. The demography of South Africa consisted of white Europeans and black Africans. The white Europeans colonised South Africa in the 17th and 18th centuries and started supervising the residents. They adopted the apartheid system to create social divisions based on their skin colour and labelled them accordingly. The natives were called blacks. There was another group of mixed races  known as "coloured." The whites treated all non-whites as inferior and deprived their voting rights.
