The constituents of biogas are methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and hydrogen sulphide gases.
The decomposition of animal dung and other biowaste in the absence of oxygen produces biogas. Biogas is a mixture of methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and hydrogen sulphide gases. Biogas consists of 75 % of methane. It has a high calorific value and burns without smoke. Biogas is used for domestic and industrial purposes. In addition, biogas is used for lighting and generating electricity.
