Detailed Solution

Tankas are semi-arid regions of Rajasthan, the traditional system of storing drinking water in underground tanks.
In Rajasthan, people store drinking water in underground tanks known as Tankas. Storing water in the Tankas is considered a traditional method. It is generally done in the Thar region of India. Storing water in Tankas gives the families security of water storage. There are pipelines on the rooftops that gather the water from rainfall, and then the water is supplied down the houses through pipeline channels, and water is transferred to the Tankas through these pipelines. By this, water travels from pipelines to tanks. By storing water in tanks, there is a security of water, as it can be used until the next rainfall. It is the most reliable source for the storage of drinking water.
