The type of sex determination in grasshopper is X0 type while that in the human being is XY type. In both the cases, male is heterogametic and produces two types of sperms. In grasshopper, half of the sperms carry an X chromosome while the other half lack an allosome. In human beings, half of the spermatozoa contain X chromosome while the other half contain Y chromosome. The female is homogametic in both the cases and all the ova contain a single X chromosome.
