What is common to grasshopper and human being regarding sex determination?

The type of sex determination in grasshopper is X0 type while that in the human being is XY type. In both the cases, male is heterogametic and produces two types of sperms. In grasshopper, half of the sperms carry an X chromosome while the other half lack an allosome. In human beings, half of the spermatozoa contain X chromosome while the other half contain Y chromosome. The female is homogametic in both the cases and all the ova contain a single X chromosome.

Male human has two different types of allosomes (X and Y) but male grasshopper has only one allosome (X).

Sex determination is based on the number of allosomes in grasshopper. In human beings, it is based on the types of allosomes.
