Domestic violence is the term given to the violence that happens to a person inside the house. It is the term that defines atrocities mostly done by males towards the females of the house. It is a broad definition of the term, it includes any offence to women done physically, mentally, sexually, economically or in other forms too, and it is punishable in India under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act which came into effect in 2006. It deals with protecting women against any form of domestic violence done to them by the male in the house and is a great way to give justice to women and empower them in society.
