What Is Glacial Acetic Acid?

Glacial acetic acid is pure, concentrated acetic acid that freezes at a cool temperature, forming ice-like crystals.

Acetic acid is the main component of vinegar. When it is concentrated to 99–100% purity and water is almost removed, it is called glacial acetic acid. The name "glacial" comes from its property of solidifying into ice-like crystals below 16.7°C.
