Indentured labour is bonded labour. The indentured labour system emerged after slavery was abolished to meet the demands of plantations, mines, etc. In this system, labourers were hired under a contract called to work in distant countries for a specific time and paid off their voyage to a foreign country or home using their salary. In the 19th century, indentured labour came into existence as a new system of slavery. They work as indentured labour to earn more money. Overall the labourers' lives became one of great misery.
