Detailed Solution

Lenticular transpiration is the loss of water through lenticels, which are tiny openings present on the surface of old stems. Unlike stomatal transpiration, which plants can regulate by opening and closing the stomata, lenticular transpiration cannot be controlled since lenticels remain open all the time. The quantity of water lost through stomata is far greater compared to that lost through lenticels.
