Detailed Solution

A bandanna is a brightly coloured fabric produced by dyeing and knotting. The bandanna is derived from the word "Bandhan", which means "to tie" in Hindi. The production of bandanna designs used to happen mainly in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Bandanna, khassa (cossaes), and chintz were very popular in the European market as they were ordered in bulk in the 18th century. The list can be found in an order book of the East India Company officials that was sent to its officials in Calcutta. This order book dates back to 1730 and has an order for 5,89,000 pieces of fabric in 98 different types of silks and cotton.
