Detailed Solution

Purana meant Old and was first recorded in Sanskrit about the sixth century CE. Vishnu, Durga, Shiva, and Parvati were some of the gods and goddesses in the Purana. This was the period in which the current Hindu religious stories were composed. The Puranas, unlike the Vedas and other religious scriptures, were written in Sanskrit and accessible to everybody. The gods' stories of creation and ritual practices are described in great detail in these times. Other than Gods, it also included descriptions of King and Queen. These Puranas, in contrast to the Vedas, were written for everyone to hear, including women and Shudras.
