Resistors can be connected in two ways: in series or parallel Series combination. In a series connection, resistance is connected one by one, with one end connecting directly to the other end of the other resistor.  In a series connection current through all the resistors is the same, or you can say every electron is moving in the same direction, but the voltage for each resistor is different. In parallel connections, ends of resistance are connected at the same point.  In a parallel connection, the current through all the resistors is different, but the voltage across all the resistors remains the same since they are connected from the same point.
