What is minimum forest cover to be maintained as per the National Forest Policy, 1988? 

To be covered with forests, almost one-third of the country's total land area. About two-thirds of the total area in hilly and mountainous areas must be kept forested in order to stop soil erosion and land degradation as well as to maintain the stability of delicate ecosystems.
