Detailed Solution

Presbyopia is a defect of vision.
Power of accommodation is an ability of eye lens to adjust its focal length to view distant and nearby objects. With growing age, the power of accommodation of our eyes decrease. This is because the ciliary muscles which holds the eye-lens in its position, loses flexibility in old age. Therefore, few elderly persons can’t see nearby objects or objects at far distant clearly without any strain on eyes. Some times both nearby and distant objects are difficult to view clearly without any strain on eyes. This defect of vision is called presbyopia.
