Detailed Solution

Tachycardia refers to a condition in which the heart beats faster than normal while at rest. A normal resting heart rate for adults ranges between 60 and 100 beats per minute. When the rate exceeds 100 beats per minute, it is called tachycardia. It can occur due to various factors such as stress, fever, dehydration, anemia, or heart-related problems like arrhythmias. While mild tachycardia caused by exercise or anxiety is harmless, persistent or unexplained rapid heartbeat can strain the heart and reduce its efficiency. Severe cases may cause dizziness, chest pain, or fainting, requiring medical evaluation and treatment.
