Detailed Solution

An accountable government is one which is answerable to its citizens for its actions and policies. The government creates laws that are acceptable to the people or that have the support of the people because it must answer fundamental questions about those decisions to the people of the nation. The government holds responsibility towards its people for all its actions, schemes, policies etc. It cannot forcefully, without an explanation, implement something. Often, the government has to suffer an outrage if it plans something that may not align with the interests of the citizens. E.g. in India, Lokpal and Lokayukta make the accountability of the government possible at the ground level.
