Detailed Solution

The official cutoffs for IISER 2025 are not out yet. The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 results are expected to be released in the second or third week of June 2025. The actual cutoffs (which are usually in terms of closing ranks rather than fixed marks) are released after the counseling rounds are completed by the IISERs.

How IISER Cutoffs are Determined:

IISER cutoffs depend on several factors:

  • The difficulty level of the IAT 2025 exam.
  • The total number of applicants for IISERs in 2025.
  • The number of seats available in each IISER and for each program.
  • The performance of all candidates who appeared for the exam.
  • The category of the candidate (General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, Kashmiri Migrants).
  • The specific IISER campus (e.g., IISER Pune and Kolkata generally have higher cutoffs).

Expected / Predicted Cutoffs (Based on past trends and expert analysis):

While official cutoffs are not out, various educational platforms provide expected safe scores based on previous years' trends and the perceived difficulty of IAT 2025. These are just estimates and the actual cutoffs may vary.

Here are some predicted ranges for safe scores (out of 240) for the General (UR) category in IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025:

  • IISER Pune: 190+
  • IISER Kolkata: 180+
  • IISER Bhopal: 175+
  • IISER Mohali: 170+
  • IISER Thiruvananthapuram: 160+
  • IISER Tirupati: 160+
  • IISER Berhampur: 150+

For other categories (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS), the cutoffs will be lower. For example, general expected cut-off marks (all IISERs combined) are sometimes predicted as:

  • General (UR): 120-130
  • OBC-NCL: 100-110
  • SC/ST: 65-75
  • EWS: 110-120
