Power is defined as the rate at which work is done or energy is transferred. The SI unit of power is the watt (W), which is defined as one joule of work per second. The formula for power is:

P = W / t

where P is the power, W is the work done, and t is the time taken. Alternatively, power can also be expressed in terms of force and velocity:

where P is the power, F is the force applied, and v is the velocity of the object.
