Detailed Solution

Vector:
In biology, a vector is a living organism, often an insect like a mosquito or tick, that carries and transmits a disease-causing pathogen from one host to another. For example, mosquitoes are vectors for malaria and dengue because they carry and spread the pathogens that cause these diseases. In molecular biology, a vector can also refer to a DNA molecule (like a plasmid or virus) used to transfer genetic material into a cell.

Pathogen:
pathogen is a microorganism—such as a virus, bacterium, fungus, or protozoan—that can cause disease in its host. Pathogens are often called "germs" and are responsible for infectious diseases like the flu, tuberculosis, and ringworm. Not all microorganisms are pathogens; only those that can harm the body and cause illness are defined as pathogens
