The given fractions are,

2125

and

1820

In order to subtract unlike fractions, they must be converted into equivalent like fractions.
The LCM of the denominator 25 and 20 is 100.
So, we convert the given fractions into equivalent fractions with denominator 100.
Therefore the fractions become,

2125 = 21 × 4 25 × 4 = 84100

1820 = 18 × 5 20 × 5 = 90100

Thus, we have

1820 − 2125 = 90100 − 84100 = 90 − 84 100 = 6100

The fraction can be reduced by dividing numerator and denominator by 2.
Thus, we get

6100 = 350

∴ 1820 − 2125 = 350

Thus the difference of

2125

and

1820

is

350 .
