What is the direction of movement of sugars in phloem?

Phloem is mainly involved in the transport of food from a source to the sink. Usually the leaves are considered as the source and sink is the parts of the plant that stores or needs the food. But we must remember that the source and sink may be reversed depending on the season or plants needs. Since source sink relationship is variable the direction of movement of phloem is bidirectional.
