What is the food habit of original variety of Darwin’s finches from which many other varieties are developed

The original Darwin finches were seed eaters. they migrated to the various Galopagos islands and depending the the type of food present in each of these islands, they modified their beak, and developed into insectivorous and other type of vegetarian finches.
