The element with atomic number 13 is aluminium (Al) in the modern periodic table.
Electronic configuration of Al = 2, 8, 3
Valency of Al = 3
Al can lose 3 electrons to form Al3+ and the sulphate ion has a charge of -2. So, 2 atoms of Al are required to bond with 3 sulphate ions to form a stable compound.
