IUD stands for Intrauterine Devices. It is a long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) method used to prevent pregnancy. A doctor or healthcare provider places a small, T-shaped device inside a woman’s uterus.

How an IUD Works

IUDs prevent pregnancy by making the uterus an unfavorable place for sperm and eggs. The way they work depends on the type of IUD used.
